WELCOME TO P.A.L.S. AT CURTIS ELEMENTARY

A Community of Passionate Educators, Student Leaders and Learners

P.A.L.S. (Peers Academically Leading Success) is a preventative and intervention program created for Kinder -2nd grade students. Every morning, Monday thru Thursday, some of our 5th grade students work with a few of our lower elementary students. They focus on foundational reading skills. As students progress, more skills will be added. Parent and Teacher Volunteers oversee the program. At Curtis Elementary, we strive to "Create a Brighter Future Together."

Peers Academically Leading Success

P.A.L.S. (Peers Academically Leading Success) is a preventative and intervention program created for Kindergarten through 2nd grade students at Curtis Elementary. Since October 2016, every morning, Monday through Thursday, several 5th grade students work with a few lower grade level elementary students. They focus on foundational reading skills. As students progress, more skills are added. “The 5th graders out did themselves again! They were great role models and amazingly helpful to our younger students as they bowled together at our end of year celebration May 16 at Crossroads Bowling Center,” said Curtis P.A.L.S. Coordinator Janie Holtz. “Thank you to our 5th grade P.A.L.S. for giving so much to this program and all students involved. Best wishes to them as they move on to 6th grade. We are also especially thankful for our staff and volunteers.”
